ITURHFProp – Great New Free Online HF Propagation Tool
There is a new free online HF propagation tool.
There is a new free online HF propagation tool.
Received by QSL card from Marc for 20M and 17M SSB. This is #305 ATNO
This figure shows the QSOs made by KP2L and WB5NHL (red rectangles) over laid on the free K6TU propagation analysis with the recent Baker Island dxpedition.. The black rectangle shows when Baker Island was heard (40M) but no QSO resulted. These results include SSB, CW and FT8 QSOs. It is concluded that the propagation tool […]
I have Seen Abubaker (5A1AL) a few times on FT8. Abubaker is the only Libyan ham that is regularly on the bands. Today I was able to work him and his upload to Clublog confirmed I am in his log. Sent him an OQRS for a QSL.
KH1/KH7Z (Baker Island) was a very successful dxpedition for us. I was able to work them (in clublog) on 17 meter CW and FT8 and 20M SSB, CW and FT8. All contacts were made between 0000 and 0200z. This was precisely as predicted by VOACAP propagation tool. I heard them in the mornings on 30M […]
Once again this year Schofield Ham Radio and Technology Club has a group of new hams. Pictured from left to right are KN4IVA, Andrew; KN4IWB, Lance; KN4IWC, Piper; and KN4IVD, Anna. These new hams also made the local Aiken Standard newspaper https://www.aikenstandard.com/education/schofield-radio-club-hits-new-high/article_c650ebfc-fc92-11e7-a72c-f3d4ad598c78.html
Since starting with FT8 in mid-July I have worked 177 countries (127 confirmed) and watched the mode explode in activity. It seems hams worldwide have discovered the fun of beating the sunspot gods! Along with this explosion of activity has come a need for more knowledge and skill in operating the WSJT-X software. ZL2IFB has […]
Since mid-July through Oct 31 I have worked 156 countries on FT8 mode on all HF bands. Some of the outstanding DX has included India (multiple times), Sri Lanka, Seychelles, South Shetland Islands, Antarctica, Palestine, New Caledonia, West Malaysia, Samoa and Fiji — all on supposedly “dead” HF bands. It seems signal processing gain is […]
WB5NHL was awarded 5BDXCC #8899. Thanks to some effort on 80 meters with FT8 I was able to get 100 countries on my last band.
Just worked RI1ANO (South Shetland Islands) and A54XR (Oman) on 17M for countries #100 and #101 worked using the new FT8 mode by Joe Taylor, K1JT. My first FT8 contact was July 14, so this was DXCC in approximately 45 days!!!!
